AUGUST 2010

Last week we had 56 fish hooked, but yet again 19 were lost. 13 wre dropped and 6 lost in snags. but 37 fish were landed with a total weight of 1088lb. We had 3 x 40's to 48lb 12oz, 16 x 30's to a number of 39lb fish, and 15 x 20's with lots of 29lb fish. We had heavy rain until tuesday morning then it was light cloud for the rest of the week. Average weight has dropped to 30lb's, we are hoping that now the temps are coming down the fish will start to get there heads down more, which is whats seems is happening.

August has been a very slow month, mainly due to the extreme heat. It has been close to 100 degrees most days. But saying that fish have been out to the people that worked hard at it. And over the last two week the fish have started to switch back on. Week of 7th the temps came down a bit and a total of 50 fish were hooked, 30 fish were landed and unfortunately another 20 were lost. 14 to hook pulls and 6 in the snags. We had a couple of 46lb and 47lb fish caught, with 5 x 40's, 14 x 30's and 11 x 20's. weather was 22 to 26 during the day and 14 to 16 at night, so its still very warm. One of the well respected lads Garry Peck, saw a 60lb fish sulking in the snags during the hot days, I'm sure if you contact him on the Facebook page he'll be happy to tell you all about it.

JULY 2010

First two weeks of July have been very very slow with the weather extremely hot it has been between 92 and 96 degrees most days, the fish went on strike under the trees as the water tempreture went up to 29 degrees. I will get the updates back on track now that i've had my holiday and i'm back on the computer. Last week there were only 11 fish caught, 1 x 40+, 5 x 30's, and 5 x 20's. total weight was 335lb with an average of 30lb 04oz. There was 8 dropped fish and 4 lost to snags. We also had 2 fish hooked off the surface on bread, but both were lost. Boathouse and Tight squeeze were top swims yet again.

JUNE 2010

Well another week has gone bye and they tried spawning again. We had a total of 40 fish landed, 14 dropped and 7 lost in the snags. Total weight of 1301lbs, with an average of 32lb 05oz. 2 x 50's, a 50lb 14oz and a 51lb 03oz both mirrors, 7 x 40's with two at 47lb 08oz and 47lb 12oz, 13 x 30's with a number over 39lbs and 18 x 20's again with a lot of 28lb and 29lb fish. The bigger fish have started to move about more now, but Steve feels with 142 dropped fish this year, we could be doing a lot better. Same as always, please bait little and often 10k a week is enough at the moment, you shouldn't need anymore unless there having it big style. Dont pile it all in during the first weekend, then complain if you dont catch. After all, it is called Carp Fishing NOT Carp jumping on your hooks. If it was that easy we would all be doing it. Weather was good with 25/26 when the sun was out, and 18/20 when raining, and it did rain. The fish were crashing out all over the lake, and last weeks group had 6 PB's so there was another 6 bottles of Champagne we gave away...RB's ,61, R2 and the Lodge doing the business....

First week of June and the fish tried to spawn again, the weather was very hot with few fish coming to the bank. In total there were 37 fish caught, 6 lost in the snags, and 7 lost to hook pulls, so there were actually 50 fish hooked. Total weight was 1043lb 8oz with the average at 31lb 7oz, 2 x 40's a 45lb 12oz common one of the new fish stocked and a 49lb 4 oz mirror, 18 x 30's two over 39lbs, and 17 x 20's, with lots of 28lb & 29lb fish. The fish seem to be on the naturals at the moment so there not feeding heavy on boilies at the minute. Some of the lads have had a harder time than others, and some are still not listening to advice given by me or Steve, and dumping 30 to 60 kilo's in over the first weekend and expecting the fish to jump onto there hooks, sorry boys it DONT work like that....

MAY 2010

Well last week was very slow, the fish started to spawn Monday night and carried on until Wednesday morning when it started to Piss down, we had storms and heavy rain. There were only 16 fish caught last week to 503lb. 13 x 30's to 37lb 14oz, 3 x 20's all 29's. 12 fish were hook pulled/lost and 4 were lost in the snags, average weight was 32lb 07oz. RB's, R1 and Boathouse fished the best. They seem to be spending a lot more time down the bottom end of the lake away from the lodge now. The water there is only 3' deep so it warms up faster each day, and there has been a lot of BIG fish spotted in this area of the lake. Someone has made a comment to me, that when they heard them crashing the other night, it sounded like there were slabs being thrown into the lake, LMAO. Hold tight boys.....

Week 3 and the fish have decided to come out to play. A total of 51 fish were caught last week by 6 anglers, 6 x 40's to 45lb, 24 x 30's lots of 39's, and 19 x 20's. 6 PB's were broken for at total of 1581.07lbs with an average of 31.01lbs. Weather was good all week, with the water temp upto 20 degrees. 12 fish were dropped/hook pulls and 5 fish got into the snags. Detonator tipped with red corn seemed to do the biz all week. Fish are coming from all around the lake now, one of the 40's was a 43lb mirror that came out last September at 38lb so all fish are packing the weight on. The Orange and white Koi has now come out at just over 28lb, this fish was just 26lb mid April. Robin Reeve on the new Boathouse swim did well with 17 fish to 43lb, and Greg & Paul had 5 x 20's, 6 x 30's and 2 x 40's so well done lads, see you all next year for maybe a 50...Tight squeeze has again had a big fish dropped in there, and I do mean BIG fish. I honestly think the lake's first 50 or 60 this year will come from tight squeeze very soon, the big fish just love this swim.

Second week and things haven't changed much. We still have the cold nights down to 3 degrees, and days of only 7 to 10 degrees and a North East wind. Again a couple of days of rain during the week but not as bad as the first week. In total 6 anglers caught 49 fish last week, 1 x 44lb, 15 x 30's to 39lb 12oz, and 33 20's. There were 10 fish dropped / hook pulls during the week, and 6 fish lost to the snags. A total weight of 1436lb, with an average of 29lb 3oz. There seem's now to be a lot of fish down the bottom of the lake, away from the noise at the lodge end, lol.

Well the first week of May came and went with not much to show. The weather was still not very good for this time of year, 6 to 8 degrees during the day, and down to 3 degrees at night. Plus two days of Torrential rain, non of which add's up to good fishing. There was only a total of 30 fish caught all week, 1 x 45lb, 16 x 30's to 39.12lbs and 39.08lbs, and 13 x 20's. 10 fish were dropped/hook pulled, and 3 in the snaggs. The lads worked there butts off, and didn't stop trying all week. The top swims this week were 61, Tight squeeze and R2, followed by RB's later in the week.

APRIL 2010

Last week of April and the weather is still not settled. But it was sunny and warm with 25 degree's during the day, down to 4 at night. Still some fish came out to play and a patern has started, early mornings, and late evenings seem to be the times last week. 45 fish caught and 14 fish dropped, only 2 of these were snagged fish. 2 x 40's to 42.12lb, 24 x 30's to 37.14lb, and 16 x 20's, in total for a weight of 1358lb 2oz with an average of just over 30lbs. R1 & R2 plus 61 picking up the most fish.

Third week of the season and we have 8 anglers on. The weather again was not very kind this week, with temps down to between 0 and 3 degrees at night, and 22 degrees during the day. In total the group caught 45 fish, and dropped 6, loosing 2 in the snags. They had 3 x 40's to 43lb, 10 x 30's to 37lb, and 20 over 20lbs. The total weight for the week was 1207.7lb, with an average weight of 27lb 14oz. 61, Tight Squeeze and Banzias picking up the bigger fish. R1 & R2 have lots of fish in front of them, but there just in the warmer water. The fish are moving all around the lake now as we removed a lot of snaggs during the winter. So there not held up in any one swim now.

Second week of the season and we had 6 anglers visit us. 2 of the lads only booked until Tuesday, then went back home to Holland leaving us with 4 lads. The lads managed 44 fish in total for the week. Weather was chilly at night, between 0 and 3 degree's. Day temps were between 8 and 10 degrees, and picking up all the time. They had 9 hook pulls and only 1 snagged fish, which is nice to hear. 2 x 40's to 42.8 lb and 42.6 lb, 18 x 30's to 37.5 lb, followed up with 24 fish below 30lbs total weight was 1,328lbs, with an average weight of 28.5lbs. Not bad considering it's still cold, more next week.

Well here we go another season about to start. The first group at Bossard had a very good week from all accounts, 3 new anglers to Bossard and 3 PB's smashed, not beaten!!!Chris, James and Lewis well done lads. 3 x 40's, many 30's and a number of 20's. Most of which would of done your PB's alone, Chris had 2 of the 40's himself excellent result fella. The weather was damp and wet almost all the time, but this didn't put them off one bit. Look forward to seeing you next year lads. Then came my week (work not play), well what can I say. Rain and deep frosts of a night didn't do us any good at all. The weather changed on Thursday and so did the fishing with at least 18 fish coming out to 40lb's, not bad for only really 3 nights fishing. More to follow soon.

OCTOBER 2009

The Remaining weeks of October were very slow with only a few fish coming to the nets as the weather really did turn for the worst. We did however have a number of 40lb fish caught.

First week of October saw 7 anglers on, the weather has turned cold, and the fishing has started to slow down now. But saying that the lads caught 24 fish, they also managed to drop a futher 10 fish, and only 1 fish was lost due to being snaged. The fish caught were, 5 x 40lbs, 9 x 30lbs and 10 x 20lbs biggest fish was a 44lb 12oz common. We nealy had six 40's as the biggest 30 went 39lb 12oz, for a total weight of 736lb. Thats really not bad for this time of year.

 SEPTEMBER 2009

Fishing has slowed down over the last few weeks, but fish have still been coming out 1st week September saw 5 anglers fishing, they caught 26 fish, dropped 10 fish and lost 2 in snags. 2 x 40lb, 7 x 30lb and 13 x 20's. for a total of 713lb. 2nd week September saw 4 anglers fish and they caught 24 fish, 1 x 40lb, 7 x 3...0lb and 14 x 20's. 11 fish dropped, 4 lost in the snags for a total 661lb.

3rd week September (my week) saw a total of 23 fish caught, 3 x 40lb, 4 x 30lb, 17 x 20's plus 10 fish dropped (and 1 was mobby dick) and 4 lost in the snags for a total of 648lb. Last week was slow with 24 fish caught, weights to follow.

AUGUST 2009

Week starting 15th we had only 4 anglers on again. They caught a total of 21 fish between them, they dropped 14 fish and got snagged by another 7 fish. 2 x 40's, 5 x 30's and 11 x 20's. Biggest fish of the week was a 43lb 07oz Mirror. Again the lake bait Detonator doing the Biz.

Week starting 8th we had 4 Belgium lads fishing for a total of 57 fish 1513lb, 1 x 50, 5 x 40's, 5 x 30's and 39 x 20's. Biggest fish was again over 53lb, all 40's were between 44lb to 49lb, all fish are falling for the lake bait at the moment, and the more you put in, the more come out.

Hello again, the lake has been very quiet over the past couple of weeks, the first week of the month nobody was on. Last week only 2 anglers were there, and with the heatwave running at 36c its understandable that the lake was slow. But the 2 lads ended up with 11 fish in total for 384lb, they dropped 8 fish and had 3 fish in the snags. The fish caught were 1 x 50 (53lb.8oz) 2 x 40's (47lb.14oz) 4 x 30's and 4 x 20's. This really is not that bad considering the heat they had to put up with.

JULY 2009

Hi all, just another quick one...Steve is back in England for 3 days only (this lasted over a week lmao), and he has just told me the 2 Belgium lads have now had 2 over 50lbs, and its only Monday......omg.

Right, here we go again...4 anglers on last week, 40 fish caught for 1223lb. 23 x 20's, 8 x 30's 3 x 40's and 2 x 50's. The Dutch lads have been at it again having good share of those fish. Biggest last week were 57.02lb and 53.08lb mirrors. All 40's were between 43lb and 44lb. They also dropped 21 Fish and lost 4 in the snags. When will people start listening to Steve and myself, The Lake Bait again doing the biz.

Ok, lets try and get this right..The 2 Dutch lads landed 57 fish last week, they dropped another 42 fish, YES 42 FISH DROPPED!!!!!!! and snagged 7 fish...I think more rig checks are going to happen..you people have to start listening to both Steve at the lake and me on here. These fish are big, 70% have never been hooked before, silly size 8 or 10 hooks will NOT hold them when they go.

Last week only 2 Anglers on the whole lake. The catch report is a total of 16 fish only for 496lb. They had 2 x 40's, 7 x 30's, and 6 x 20's and they lost a good number in the snags (not being locked up) and they got away with it. They also dropped a 50lb+ at the net. The boss fished one night only with 1 rod, his total was 3 fish, 49lb mirror, 32lb common and a 29lb mirror. We've banned him fishing with 3 rods lmao.

2 lads last week caught 39 fish, which included a brace of 50lbs fish, followed by 2 x 40lbs and 7 over 30lbs. They also managed to drop 23 fish!!!!!!!
